Since the Argus Leader began the program in 2000, 110 students throughout the state have been named Academic All-Stars. These are students who are at the top of their high school classes and are future leaders in their communities. This database lets you learn about past and present winners.

In October 1986, 36 inmates were released from South Dakota prisons as part of a mass commutation ordered by then Gov. Bill Janklow in an attempt to ease overcrowding. Argus Leader Poll: What Sioux Falls Thinks

The Argus Leader commissioned a scientific poll to examine Sioux Falls residents' opinions on city issues. The poll covered issues from the need for an events center, performance of city and school leaders, police department staffing, traffic, smoking and daycare. Mason-Dixon Polling & Research conducted the poll. The company polled 625 registered voters in Sioux Falls from Oct. 1-3, 2007. The margin for error is plus or minus 4 percent.
